- Best for: Daily Run, Long Run, Tempo
- Cushioning: high
- Ride: balanced
- Distance: medium to long
- Highlight: Plate-free version of the Deviate series with NITROFOAM and a wide base, lighter and more flexible than the Deviate Nitro 4 with carbon plate.
The Puma Deviate Pure Nitro is the plate-free entry into the Deviate range, defining Puma's road running claim. Deviate is Puma's leading franchise since its comeback in road running, and the Pure version makes speed more accessible without sacrificing performance benefits. In the Sunny Lime / Puma Black colorway, a bright yellow-green mesh upper meets the black Puma formstrip on the side. Traction is handled by PUMAGRIP rubber, which confidently tackles rainy days with a coefficient of friction of 0.71 on wet concrete. The PEBA-based NITROFOAM strikes a balance between cushioning and responsiveness – enough softness for long distances, plus a lively rebound that keeps the run invigorating. The biggest advantage is its versatility: from recovery miles to easy long runs to tempo progression, the shoe feels at home across many pace ranges. Made for those who love classic running shoes but still want a fast, lightweight, and performance-focused setup.
