New Balance 90/60

With the 90/60, New Balance distills its own DNA into a silhouette that swings between retro and future. Designers James Lee and Yue Wu delved deep into the brand's archive: they drew inspiration from the 990 with its understated, flowing lines and spiced it up with the retro-futuristic vibe of 2000s runners like the 860 v2. The Sway Bars taken from the 990 extend across the entire upper, creating a sense of visible movement. In 'Mushroom', the 90/60 remains entirely in earth tones. The soft palette meets soft materials, with suede on the overlays and underlays, while a layer deeper, an open, breathable mesh forms the base. Reflective details and a subtly placed 'N' on the side complete the look. Beige, brown, and gray come together here, perfectly suited for Gorpcore and Techwear – a muted execution that consciously opts for understatement amidst the noise of loud colorways.
