Asics GEL-1130

Asics has long been one of the players that effortlessly makes the leap from the street runway to sneaker spotlight. The GEL-1130 comes from the brand's archive: released in 2008 as the ninth iteration of the Gel-1000 series and as an affordable entry-level stability shoe. Designed as a cheaper option to the Gel-Kayano 14, which also inspired the model's design. This version comes in the Colorway White / Rusted Rock: a light base interspersed with warm, earthy accents. The traditional materials have been reinterpreted here to give the retro runner a more modern look. The breathable mesh upper meets layered overlays that provide structure and that typical nested Y2K aesthetic. The GEL-1130 thrives on the comeback of the early 2000s. In 2021, Asics brought the model back in the midst of the dad shoe wave, when everyone fell in love with nostalgic, chunkier silhouettes. This Rusted Rock drop taps into that: calm, urban, and made for those who reinterpret retro running today.
